I had a nice Saturday. We had dinner at a local Mexican restaurant and I very much enjoyed sitting there and sipping my "premium" margarita. The food was OK, the margarita was delicious. Yes, I would like to waste away in Margaritaville for a few days, but no such luck.
After that we went to Barnes and Noble where I just had to have the latest issue of Fortean Times. Some nice articles in there like one on the Crash Retrieval Conference, by Nick Redfern. Another really great one is Dr. Sheldrake's article on Richard Dawkins. Richard Dawkins was just on Real Time with Bill Maher last Friday night, he was far too skeptical for my taste, but that is what the Sheldrake article is about. Then there is the main reason I bought FT, an article on gnomes and fairies. I had never noticed the price of FT before because normally I am buying a bunch of other stuff. Last night when I checked out I only had FT and was shocked that my bill was over $11. Does it really cost $5 to import each magazine? Why are Chinese goods so cheap, aren't they imported? It makes me wonder if the US government charges the Brits more to import than they do China.
As you will see right below this post -- Regan has a new blog. Not just any new blog, one about Mothman, which happens to be one of my favorite esoteric subjects and I look forward to reading her posts on the subject. It looks like Regan is using Wordpress and I don't care what anyone says -- wordpress is a damn nice blogging software and I still mirror my Beyond the Dial blog on WP. I will also mention that for some reason my WP version of BTD gets about 4-6 times the amount of visitors compared to the blogger version. So although I can't add widgets to WP it does have it's advantages.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
