This and That: Chopra, Quayle and Chemtrails
As for c2c last night -- I normally enjoy Stephen Quayle and his bible/giants talk, but when he starts saying things like he did in the last hour of last night about knowing who the anti-Christ is I start to think he has gone all Ed Dames on me. I was disappointed by that to say the least.
The chemtrails have been crazy here the past couple days. I didn't have the time to sit outside and watch them much, but they were spraying like crazy. I did take some pictures, but I haven't looked at them on the computer yet to see if there is anything strange in them. I didn't see anything strange, other than the unmarked white planes and trails. Thanks be for digital cameras! I would have never wasted time and money taking such pictures if they had to be developed the old fashioned way.

This and That: Goya's Ghosts, UFO Hunters and CryptoMundo
Of course I watched UFO Hunters earlier in the night. Anyone who is still willing to believe the Rendlesham UFO was only the light from the lighthouse doesn't want to know the truth. Whatever the truth is, it was not a lighthouse. Not that I ever believed that theory anyhow, it never made any sense.
Lastly, if you haven't checked my myspace page in a while I have a totally cool and fun song called CryptoMundo, by IceHorse posted there. Yes, I found it when I dropped by the Cryptomundo myspace page and fell in love with it. It is so funny, it makes me smile every time I hear it.

This and That
My big finds yesterday were a few very nice art books, for $2 each and a amazingly ornate brass lamp for $25. The lamp has these little heads coming out of it that look very much like some greek god, claw feet and some very nice scroll work and other ornamentation. I didn't need it, but how can I pass up a lamp like that for only $25? Britton bought a cool old spelter (pot metal) statue of Richard the 1st on horseback with his sword drawn and some other cool stuff. The statue was a steal, I would date it to the early 1900's.
The guy at the thrift store thought we were "movie people." He explained that movie people shop there a lot looking for vintage stuff for whatever film they are working on. We explained that our stuff would be going on the set we know as our house.
I have a new post at Lesley Land, about Hillary Clinton's lack of color.
I am going to get some sleep now. I am tired of listening to myself yawn.

Grey Matters
Roswell, it never dies so let me continue to write about it. Just some thoughts on recent Roswell related things. You will find Grey Matters at Binnall of America today at a time known only to KC and the Sunshine Band, but it will appear as if by magic. While you are at BoA you will want to check out EVERYTHING, so go with that feeling.

The Oscars and Drive In memories
I haven't seen No Country for Old Men yet. Frankly, I am not even sure what it is about. I did however love that shot of Albuquerque in the clip right before it won the Oscar. How many times have I driven that exact route they show? Probably at least thousands of times. Straight down Central Ave (old route 66) from east to west. That was the lifeline of my youth, Albuquerque wasn't as big then and that was without a doubt the main road and everywhere I went was on that road.
It is still where the hookers and pimps hang. Still full of adult theaters and cheap motels. I like it that way because that is how it has always been.
Now when I was young there was a drive in movie theater called The Terrace on Central Ave. You could see whatever was playing there from the front yard of my house and you could also see the sign, a screen sized neon image of a woman in a ball gown dancing. Still to this day I have not forgiven them for turning that into a trailer park. It was totally magical when I was a kid.
I have never really understood the abandonment of drive ins. I think they were fabulous places. You could see a movie and bring you own food and beverages. You could have a cooler full of beer and fried chicken -- whatever you want. You could smoke during the movie and you could even talk if you were bored by it. If you were of a certain younger age, you might go there with your boyfriend with hopes to steam up the windows. I went to see movies at the drive in up until the bitter end. There are none left here now and that makes me sad. It is one of those few things about "modern times" that I just don't understand.

Read this Beotch!
You can probably tell by the word Beotch that I have been watching too much Chappelle lately. I don't know if anyone else saw it, but he did this skit last night where he was President Bush trying to explain the Iraq war and Iraq related things and it was totally hilarious. It ends with all these reporters asking when the violence is going to end in Iraq and he gets all angry with them saying they are breaking his concentration when he is trying to think about important issues like going to Mars. We're goin' to Mars Beotch! Forget about the war! Maybe not everyone would find that funny, but I was nearly rolling on the floor laughing.
Comedy is good!!! Life would suck without it.

Chris Balzano on BoA Audio!
Preview from Tim --
Longtime friend of BoA and rising esoteric star Chris Balzano comes to the program to discuss his recently released debut book "Dark Woods: Cults, Crime, and the Paranormal in Freetown State Forest". We'll be discussing the unique setting that is the Freetown State Forest, which Balzano says lies at the heart of the infamous Bridgewater Triangle in Massachusetts. We'll talk about the colonial origins of Freetown and some of the modern day oddities, outside of the "normal" esoteric genres, that have been reported to emanate from the FSF, including zombies, witches, and the ultra strange Pukwudgies. We'll also cover the cult activity that plagued the area in the late 1980's and some of the most infamous cases in the area from that time.
It's a fascinating interview that goes "off the beaten path" of esoteric discussion to cover areas that are oftentimes marginalized by the bigger esoteric genres.
Sounds fascinating! I know what a Pukwudgie is, but only because I cheated and googled it.
The interview will most likely be posted this evening at Binnall of America.

Tongues and Lust
I spent way too much time on some boring movie last night. It wasn't really worth my time, but after having watched a certain amount I felt committed to see it through. Actually it was a Chinese film called Lust and Caution and I will caution you that there isn't much lust in it, it is mostly 3 hours of long drawn out dialog that could easily be cut in half and have the same effect. Bad editing, IMO. That is the problem with letting Britton pick the movie, he automatically picks the one with the word Lust in the title. Of course, the joke is on him because lust was mostly only in the title, it certainly was very little of the movie. I am not saying it was an entirely bad movie, but it was way longer than it needed to be.
I know some people only read this because of the title and now they are terribly disappointed, but now you know how I feel after watching Lust and Caution. :-)

You're a Komodo Dragon!
While many people like to talk about running off to be the vicious
dictator of a small distant island, you feel you have more potential to follow
through on this plan than anyone. Big, strong, muscular, and a teensy bit
vindictive, you feel you could overpower anyone who tried to question your
authority. When not taking over the world, island by island, you enjoy sunning
yourself on the beach. You have an absurdly long tongue.

Total Eclipse of the Eclipse
So instead I watched UFO Hunters as it aired rather than watching it later. I totally enjoyed that episode, partly because there was more UFO hunting and less "testing" than on previous weeks. Pat was scaring the crap out of me because he just stuck his arm down a hole in the middle of the desert without (so far as I know) checking it out with a flashlight or poking a stick in there. I just sat there cringing. I would never do that, there could always be a rattlesnake, scorpion, Chupacabra or some other dangerous creature in there. So don't try that at home kids, never stick your arm down a hole in the desert or really anywhere without being sure what is in there. Remember the UFO Hunters have special powers to protect them from such things, but not everyone does.
Aside from the hole in the desert there was some stuff about "the zone of silence." That is a phenomena that I totally had missed up until a couple months ago. Apparently there is this area in the Mexican desert that is very much like the Bermuda Triangle. Electronics don't work right or just stop working at all (much like at my house) and compasses sometimes go crazy and start spinning wildly.
Actually thinking about the zone of silence makes me think I should find my compass and see if it ever spins wildly during the weird electrical things that go on here. Of course, I would be more likely to blame it on KAFB than anything else. Probably something to do with their "non-lethal" weapons testing.

You're Prufrock and Other Observations!
by T.S. Eliot
Though you are very short and often overshadowed, your voice is poetic
and lyrical. Dark and brooding, you see the world as a hopeless effort of people trying
to impress other people. Though you make reference to almost everything, you've really
heard enough about Michelangelo. You measure out your life with coffee spoons.

Boring every day life, or Tuesday life anyhow
As every week I found myself driving to another part of town to pick up Chinese food from my favorite Korean restaurant. :-) It is also across the way from my favorite Indian (as in India, not native American) restaurant and so I end up bringing home lots of food that will last most of the week! It isn't that I don't like to cook, but I have to be in the mood for it. I always end up out on Tuesdays because that is when the new DVDs hit the rental shops. I also stop at the grocery to pick up pet food and whatever else and normally somewhere else where I can pick up a couple frivolous items to make me feel like I did something fun. Yesterday that included 2 sets of bangle bracelets and a couple of those cute little hair scarves. I am a bracelet fanatic, especially the bangle ones, but I don't care for cuff bracelets as they irritate me.
Of course I am listening to the i-pod while driving around. These days it is my I-pod Shuffle as Britton has finally figured out the joy of I-pods and I haven't seen my 80 gb since then. It is my own fault for making playlists for him to listen to while sculpting. Although, it does give me an excuse to buy a new 80 gb, the cool touch screen ones, but I think I will wait a while. I actually have a 80 gb Zune, but it was such a pain in the ass to set up that I gave up on it. I am saving it for when I get a new computer that already has all the updates and things it needs because I am just not willing to put that much time and effort into getting it set up. All that reminds me that I need to make back ups for my I-pod music or I will be really PO'd if something happens to this computer. I have never been good at getting around to backing things up.
So there you have it, my day and bits and pieces of my life. Pretty boring, eh?
