Congratulation to Marla!
Just a bit of congratulations to BoA columnist Marla Pena and her husband Enrique on their beautiful baby boy, Alan Mena, who was born over the weekend. I hear that mom and baby are doing fine. I don't know Enrique, but judging by Marla they are going to be great parents and so Alan is a lucky baby! Of course, Marla did all the hard work, but she was up to the task. :-)

Just Crap
Really, people that claim to have been involved in UFOlogy for 25 years or more still think that they are going to solve some mystery? I don't think I have ever thought that and should I last in UFOlogy for 25 years I am positive that I will not think that then because I don't think that now. Bitch of the Day
It is nice that people want to give me money for placing their banners at my sites, but let me say this -- if you think I am going to put up a banner for some Fundie Christian site or Spam site, just don't bother to even ask because it won't happen. I wouldn't even put up a link to such a site, let alone a banner. Why would I put up a banner for a site that has nothing in common with mine? Geez, you would think people would know that!

Jemez Springs
Yes, after having found Jesus and then losing him again - I am home. We had a great time, but I am so tired and sore that I can't possibly look through news, let alone post news links. Although, if I missed anything exciting while I was gone, let me know! I had almost no internet access. I did on one night manage to connect through the wifi of the coffee shop next door, but the rest of the time I couldn't. Not that it mattered very much.
Although I didn't spot any UFOs up there, I did find a spooky old house that I will eventually write a bit more about at NM LOWFI.
and we visited an old graveyard (well, old and new actually)
We spent over 3 hours hiking all the way around a lake
Also, a bunch of other stuff like checking out Soda Dam
Yeah, I pretty much looked like crap, but I had a great time and Pooka loved all the walking!

Stuff
It sure is a lot of work to get everything ready to leave town for a few days -- I really need a vacation now. I am sure my obsessive list making a checking doesn't help. Still don't know if the motel has internet access, forgot to call and ask. I am sure that at least the coffee shop must. Pooka got all excited when I got out a suitcase, she thought we were leaving tonight. Khan (the cat) is not at all happy to see that suitcase and won't move off it so I can pack. I could move him, but I have everything out and can just stick in there when he decides to move, if he ever does. Kanga cat is also unhappy to see the suitcase and sulking. They already knew something was up when I got out the vacation feeder.
As you can see in the sidebar I received a new blog award from "Online University," which doesn't seem to actually be a university, but I am always happy for a new award. :-)

Blogs, Laughing Lizards and Telescopes
There wasn't much news today and it may be my last news/blog links update until Saturday, although, maybe a short one tomorrow night.
It has been raining here on and off all day and pretty hard. I hope it isn't a sign that it will rain all during my days out in the Jemez mountains because Pooka is totally excited about it. She totally understands that we are going bye-bye soon and she is going with us -- she knows that means the mountains, which she loves. At least we aren't camping. There is a cute little inn (or at least it seems to be and they allow big dogs) in Jemez Springs that we will be staying at - The Laughing Lizard. Hopefully no alien/fortean reptilians around, but I am sure Pooka will take care of them if there is. It also has a cafe and there is a REAL coffee shop right across the street and a tavern, seems perfect. Forgot to ask if the Inn has internet access, but I may call tomorrow and ask. If not, I will be strangely silent on facebook and everywhere else.
The sky is so clear and there are no lights out there so you can see like billions of stars. Wish I could take my telescope, but it is huge and the stand it broken, which is why I haven't used it lately. If anyone knows a site that sell a variety of quality telescopes stands - pass that info onto me because I desperately need a new one.

Again - Hotlinking is Stealing!
I don't want to give the url (why give them any hits?), but a certain site is hotlinking the entire UFO Magazine forum. They are mentioned below so you can google them if you wish. You can read about the questionable nature of these people at the forum, in this post. They do not even post anywhere to contact them by email on their website, not that I can't figure out why. So I left a message on the facebook fan page, simply saying "please stop hotlinking the UFO Mag forum." It was removed and then I noticed this post on the website:

I see not one original thing on the entire site, but they do want you to buy UFO products at their UFO store (maybe that is the original thing?). So they use other people's content to try to attract people to their site to buy their products. Nothing new there, every huckster on the internet has already tried or is doing that.
Obviously, if they really only cared about people reading our forum they would have an RSS feed that linked to our site.
The Intelligence community, the Government and some other web sites have threatened us and told us to take some of the information on this sight down. We not only refuse but believe that the interchange of free ideas is crucial and protected by the Constitution of the United States of America. We will continue to bring you the latest in UFO / Alien news as well as update our extensive video library.
