I could think of sooooooooo many comments about this, but I think it is just better to keep them to myself.

this is a truly beautiful story,
as a wife of a submariner I know how out of touch the men are when they return home, what a loving way to show patriotism and devotion with a sense of humor.

Dimitri - OK, I was wondering if her doll is anatomically correct. Maybe she won't need her husband when he gets home?

Kimber - Nobody is hatin' on Susie. Heck, she is probably smarter than we give her credit for, she has a man that doesn't talk back and is willing to go shopping with her. He does seem a bit heavy though.

The doctor they had on some news show last night said she is suffering from separation, but needs to ditch the doll because it will make it even harder for her to relate to her real husband when he gets home. The doctor did not approve of the doll at all.

I do know her personally, I found this blog thread by typing in "navy wife carries mannequin" to see how many people are talking about this. I assure you this was and is a joke. Susan Walker is a devoted wife and mother,an amazing friend. This was meant to show her husband her love and devotion. It is a prop, the media until MSNBC, showed it in it's fun and lighthearted intent, not the sick way it has turned. It is a beautiful love story, and also a real moral booster for the submarine her husband serves on. Susan Walker should be commended for her origionality, not trashed in this crude manner.
