So I popped on over to find out what was going on with my computer today. As I waited in line a Mexican family cut right in front of me. When I said something they acted like they didn't understand, so I gave up and figured I would use my anger on the computer repair people. Of course, when it was their turn the boy in the group spoke English fine so they were only pretending to not understand me. So I was all prepared to let it rip on the guy who I assumed would tell me that they weren't fixing my computer, didn't know what was wrong with it and wouldn't replace it. He didn't tell me any of that, he said that since they could find nothing wrong with the software they figured it was the hardware, even though they couldn't find anything wrong with that either. They couldn't fix it there, something about a sound card being attached to a motherboard or something, so they were shipping it back to the manufacturer who would replace my hard drive for free. Then he apologized endlessly about the wait. I was actually shocked into smiling at the nice Englishman who worked there, all my anger completely left and I ended up thanking him and leaving in a much better mood.
Sadly, that was the best part of my day. I am in the midst of a major family drama or maybe trauma is a better description. I know we all must have them, but it really so upsets me. It is one of those situations where you really can't do anything to help, you just have to wait to see how everything unfolds. It is also a situation where you feel you could easily kill, or at the very least beat the crap out of a certain member of your family, if given the chance. No doubt, I will be even spacier than normal so just ignore anything exceptionally odd that I might do or say.
