"For Ufology's survival a transition from the disclosure paradigm to a phenomenological approach has a potent imperative."

I do agree with this, although one can still wonder and want to know what the hell our government (and others) know, if really much of anything at all, of what exactly is going on. The problem though, secrets can be kept whether through skill or ineptitude or both. The answers may have already been leaked for all we know. Unfortunately, I guess we have to continue looking into this stuff on our own. Trust and truth being the keywords. How do any of us REALLY get these being a major question...who and what is reliable and who and what is not?

I have some real problems with disclosure. Not the idea of it, but I am not sure it would ever be the ideal. If your government has been lying for 60 years or more, how do you trust that what they finally tell you is the truth? How do you know they aren't just telling you bits of the truth to serve their own purpose? Or even for that matter, making up more lies to cover the real truth or merely to serve a purpose? We would never ever get the full truth because it would be far too tangled in national security issues.

This is why I do support people, like Richard Dolan, who try and research this stuff.
