I have personally always suspected that Area 51 is a giant red herring, maintained solely for distraction purposes. The real stuff is probably somewhere else, in a place that looks totally mundane and maybe even absolutely civilian from outside.
Of course, it could be just my devious Elder's mind at work here, and they are just using that double switch trick on me.
On the other hand, it could be a triple switch, and then...
