Wow, talk about things esculating out of hand. You would have thought all this could have been settled with a few words and a handshake. An upside down flag is internationally agreed as a distress signal, but many people in the UK don't know that the Union Jack has an upside down and a right way up! At least the USA flag is obvious when upside down. What do the Japanese do when they're in trouble?!

I didn't know the union jack had a right way up either. I wonder if the St. George flag does?
I think the Japanese just fall on their swords or something. :-)
