Very much nicer and cooler here than it was a couple days ago. The UFO zapping monsoons have swept in and although it hasn't rained much, it has cooled down a lot. There was enough lightening yesterday to knock the power out in all the near by places that I shop at. The nice coffee shop people let us have our coffee for free, so it wasn't so bad. Didn't effect my house, luckily.
I wish someone in Roswell would report on things. The local news had nothing but a couple shots of vendors and a really generic description of what was going on. It isn't the weekend yet, so maybe things are still slow. Although, I would imagine it is just the normal stuff that goes on at conventions, which most of the time is pretty boring. It isn't like the aliens are going to land and join the celebration. Good thing too, because I would be really pissed if I didn't go and that happened. In truth though, since I didn't want to make the drive or wade through the crowds, I now feel as though I must be missing out on something because so many people are doing it. Britton is the same way (funny because he was really dead set against going) and if we had made arrangements for somewhere to leave the dog we may have changed our minds and made the long drive, probably for no real reason other than curiosity. I suppose if we started feeling too bad we could take off this evening, stay a couple hours and drive back, but I think we would have to be pretty damned bored to do that. Still, you never know, we have been known to do weirder things than that.
