This and That

I should be asleep since I have to get early (for me) to travel to Santa Fe tomorrow, but as always I don't get tired until the sun starts to come up.

Nothing very exciting going on here. I saw the new Harry Potter movie on Monday night and enjoyed it. I also saw previews for The Water Horse, which is a Nessie type movie, it looked very cute. There were several previews for fantasy type movies that looked interesting. It is kind of weird, but apparently I can equate just about anything to the Bush administration, every evil person in the Harry Potter movie reminded me of someone in the Bush administration.

Tuesday, I spent most of the day trying to find a plumber. I really didn't think it would be that hard to find someone to come and unclog my upstairs bathtub after 5 pm, especially since there are dozens of 24 hour plumbers. However, what I quickly learned is that you get mostly answering machines or answering services, you are suppose to leave your name and number and they will call you back, except they NEVER call you back. Finally I found 1 company that actually answered it's own phone and agreed to come out, but even in that case it took 4 hours for them actually to come out. I am not complaining about them though, none of the dozens of other places I called even bothered to call me back. Apparently Americans do not need work as much as I am led to believe, at least not American plumbers. It isn't really just plumbers, I have had this problem in the past with construction related businesses and just a couple weeks back with locksmiths. These people are listed in the phone book, as though they want business, but if you call them they treat you like crap and tell you they will call you back, but they never do. I hate to be anti-LouDobbs, but I am starting to think we need more Mexicans.
