I can confirm this incident. I was a Clerk at the Fort Beaufort magistrate's court on the day when the incident happened. I did not personally saw the incident, but I saw the investigators, reporters etc the next day in Fort Beaufort. The police sergeant who fired the shots is still alive and I have his email address.
