The end of the UFO phenomenon?

There have been claims of mysterious flying saucers carrying alien creatures for over sixty years now, but very few supposed witnesses have ever taken pictures or filmed these craft. Now that cameraphones and smartphone are becoming ubiquitous, will we see a flood of UFO images, or a drought of UFO sightings?
The end of the UFO phenomenon?

I get so sick of people who write crap like that. Obviously they don't even take a couple minutes to research what they are saying. Sites like UFO Casebook and HBCC Research have new photos from sightings on almost a daily basis. A quick internet search would have told this person that there are literally thousands of UFO videos and photos on the web and more being added daily. Maybe in comparison to actual sightings the amount of people who have taken film is a small percentage, but there is certainly no lack of photos and video. Yes, to answer this person's question the amount seems to be increasing. It has increased just in the years I have been doing this blog.

They are not aliens anymore.
We are all brothers and sisters.

So I would think that at this point, we could stop considering them as strangers from space.

The term extraterrestrial would work a lot better in this situation, don't you think Lesley? :)

I totally agree with you here, some people just don't want to look at the evidences. I tried to sit a friend to watch the disclosure project video, and he couldn't get passed the first 7 minutes...

I just read the article.. and it's people like that, that I wish a UFO would buzz right up their ass so they never forget! But then again, they'd probably blow it off as just GAS! LOL

I think part of the problem is that people who do have these sightings are unsure exactly where to report them. There are so many UFO reporting sites out there now and many (including myself) that do not report it to UFO Casebook and HBCC Research or may not report it at all in fear of ridicule.

I think you're missing the point of the article.

There are very few UFO photos or videos where the subject is literally yards away from the UFO, which is the example given at the beginning of the article. Most people who claim to be in those situations don't have a camera with them, but in the future maybe they will all have a camera with them.

If those people who got the radiation poisoning had all had camera phones and videoed the military helicopters taking the object away, they might have won their court case.

If someone had a video of a floating diamond-shaped object hovering very close to them, something that looks just like a scene from a film, that would get a lot more attention than a video of a distant light in the sky. TV stations would be a lot more likely to carry a spectacular clip like that.

I have been seeing some rather close up videos lately. How many are real and how many are fake I have no idea. The thing is that the sceptics will always be sceptics, no matter what, and the believers will always believe. Incidentally, I saw a UFO once and it was too close for comfort (didn't do my car any good either), so I do believe. But I do feel a bit sceptical about some of the videos that are floating about the web. It is easier now to capture footage, but it is also easier to fake it. There is some very good footage on Rand's blog. http://myparanormallife.blogspot.com/2007/08/dominican-republic-haiti-ufo-videos.html

Very good, but I am sure it's fake and if it is it just shows how easy it is.

Richard - I understand your point of view, but I don't see all of them as brothers and sisters. So many different types have been reported that I assume there are good and bad among them and not all races are friendly towards humans. I wish I could believe they are all good, but that doesn't seem logical to me. At the same time I don't believe they want to destroy earth or humanity, more likely they have their own agenda of what is best for them and I don't think destroying us would help them.

Anon - There are very few close up photos and videos because there are very few close up sightings. I would imagine that isn't more than 1% of sightings. Whenever there is film of a close up sighting it is often fake, like the Haiti/Dominican Republic film that Steve mentions. Also, that doesn't seem to be the point of the article to me. I am really not sure what the point is because everyone I know has had a phone camera for years they aren't really anything new.
