I cashed in on one of my birthday presents last night and at we headed all the way across town to the Cottonwood Mall where we could catch the 10 pm showing of Beowulf in 3-D. So worth the drive! First was a very short preview for another Neil Gaiman story, soon to be a 3-D movie, Coraline. It is made by the same people who brought you The Nightmare Before Christmas. Coraline is actually suppose to be a kids book, but I adore it and can't wait to see the movie. Back to Beowulf, not only did it have the awesome Gaiman story, but the 3-D made it all the more awesome. I think it is the only 3-D movie that I have ever seen that had actually a good story and wasn't all made up things just to add to the effects. I still love House of Wax (the old Vincent Price one), but there still is no real comparison. Anyhow, if you get a chance to see Beowulf in 3-D I would highly recommend doing it.

Cooool. No headaches from the 3-D afterwards? The effects look great! (and I'm not just talking about Angelina)
I didn't get any headache, but I was starving by the time we left. We ended up stopping at Fridays. I hadn't been to the west side in I don't know how many years and I was shocked that Coors Rd. really looked nothing like last time I saw it. I would never live on the west side, but since it is newer they seem to get a lot of cool stuff that we don't have in the heights, like theaters that are 3-D capable. :-)
