There used to be a time when a foriegn accent would prick up my ears with interest, but no more. It's become the norm. We've always had immigration, sometimes it has caused resentment if too many of one nationality suddenly settle in one place, but on the whole, the wish to live in Britain has been taken as flattery. Even my tolerance is now pushed as in the nearest city I now feel the foriegner. I'm annoyed when I can't make myself understood in a supermarket, and when the postman gets my deliveries wrong because he can't read English. I hate feeling like a racist...but I miss England.
