Sad News -- A farewell to Kent Daniel Bentkowski

Kent was what I call a blogging friend. I didn't know him personally, but we occasionally exchanged emails and such.

I met him a few years ago when he first started his blog -- Kentroversy. I hadn't been blogging that long myself and so he was one of the first people that exchanged links with me. His articles on the movie Eyes Wide Shut have always been very popular links here at TDF, even though they were posted a couple years ago.

Kent was a very kind person. He was also one of the rare people that you could disagree with and he didn't take it personally. You could exchange views with him without fear of him becoming upset or angry, even though he would stand by his opinions.

Over the years I knew that he had health problems, but I did not realize the full extent of them. He wasn't one to whine or complain. He just kept on doing what he loved doing, blogging, doing podcast interviews and so on.

On July 24th, he reported that he was home from the hospital and that the doctors had only given him 3-6 months to live. In a twist of esotericness, I awoke either Monday or Tuesday of this week with Kent on my mind -- actually it is what woke me, a strange dream that I can't recall the details of, only that I was sure he had passed away. I got up and checked the internet and saw no such news anywhere. Kent had actually passed away a few days before on July 30th, but I didn't get the news until yesterday.

You can read more about Kent -- In Memoriam K.D.B. at Occult of Personality, or listen to some of his audio interviews at The Kentroversy Tapes, also Tim Binnall has a great interview with Kent here.

My deepest sympathy to his wife, son and other family members.

Kent will be missed!
