I hate to have to de-rail such a splendid rant, but Dennis is very confused. I don't know of Rob McConnell or his "'X' Chronicle Newspaper", but Rob has mis-attributed my work, and Balthaser has made the mistake of taking this at face value.
I did NOT write the article Balthaser is criticizing me for. A simple internet search reveals that the first six (DT) comments which have angered Balthaser so much are not mine, but by Robert Carroll, in his "Skeptic's Dictionary" article on Roswell: http://skepdic.com/roswell.html The final three (DT) comments are at least from an article that I wrote, waaaay back in 1995: The Roswell Incident and Project Mogul by Dave Thomas (Skeptical Inquirer magazine : July/August 1995) http://www.csicop.org/si/9507/roswell.html
If Balthaser's point was that skeptics are careless and don't check their facts, he has failed. Hell, Balthasar can't tell the difference between "Dave Thomas" and "Robert Carroll." Perhaps it was McConnell who screwed it up initially, but Balthaser has lost any credibility he may have had by accepting McConnell's posting of "my" article as legitimate.
