Watchmen and UFOs too

Chris Knowles has a new and very cool post -- The Secret Sun: Watchmen and the Digital Apotheosis.

I don't think I ever mentioned it at the time, but I LOVED the Watchmen movie! Maybe in some ways more than V for Vendetta. I realize that Alan Moore spits venom on it, but not being the author, I thought it was really good. Not to get me wrong -- in many ways the graphic novel was better, but still for a film, I felt they did a good job. Well, really, the best that could probably be done.

Knowing that I am one of the few people on earth that didn't like The Dark Knight, maybe my opinion shouldn't count for much. :) Then again, I don't care much for the traditional super heroes such as Batman, Superman and Spiderman. Frankly, they made Batman far too Bush like in that last film for me to like at all.

OK, onto some UFO related news -- Dennis Whitney has a cool new blog called Strange Planet! So check that out, if you haven't already!

GREAT Film, and taking pains to show all respect possible to the graphic novel. One of my top five.

I totally agree with you on Dark Knight. It was cryptofascist propaganda in spandex drag. James Kunstler had it right when he said it nailed this sick sado-masochistic codependency some Americans have developed with authority.

I am always glad to know there are others that didn't like The Dark Knight. I felt a bit left out after reading glowing reviews of it from many of my friends. I realize that at least some of that is people wanting to like it simply because it was Heath Ledger's last film. At least I am hoping that has something to do with it because the over all message it gave was a very bad one.
