I've not had much to report lately. Pretty boring here and obviously an early Spring because my allergies and sinus' have already been bugging me for over a week. Yesterday was really nice and warm so I spent a lot of time outside and tonight they are the worst so far. Still, I will gladly suffer them for warmer weather - I am sick of winter. I like to sit out in the sun and watch the UFOs go by. :-)

I live in the Redwoods of California's North Coast or "Lost Coast" as it is known, and it is pretty much raining 7 months out of the year. Ugh....I feel your pain.
I have an aversion to sunlight and heat. Thats not me being funny, I have actual physical and emotional reactions to it, so I am the opposite. I can;t really deal well with temps above 80, and I prefer temps 70 or below, preferably 60-65. Also, the sunlight has a large impact on my emotional state and leaves me very depressed a lot of the time.
I can *do* heat if I have to and I can trudge through the sunlight, but it's hard work! I can still enjoy things too, but I will always want to run inside and hide in the cool shadows. This is a major part of why I moved to Portland. Cloudcover 70% of the year.
Ha! I'm the polar opposite, Deirdre. I was, as you well know, raised in the Mojave. I love the sun and the heat. But my wife is from here in Humboldt. I'm a lizard and I married a damn salamander! Oh well. I'll just crawl back into my aquarium with the hot, flat, black heating rock and eat my bugs and mice...
Maybe we are part reptilian Erik. :)
Actually when I was younger I really didn't like the hot part of summer at all, really, I hated it. Now it doesn't bother me at all because I just remind myself that it is better than winter. I liked winter a lot more when I was younger, not sure why.
Hey Lesley -
Wintertime magic was pretty much killed for me when I did a brief stint as a Logger in the Rockies of Colorado and Utah. We would continue working into the Winter at elevations between 7500 and 9000 ft. I've had frostbite more times than I can count and I've been hypothermic twice. I'm done with it. I'll take a hot tub and a cocktail any day. And don't forget the Jack Johnson and Jimmy Buffett.
Cheers
That would kill wintertime magic for me too. I still like the first snow and stuff like that, but I am real tired of it by the end.
