Damn tooth is still really bad. Not that there is any reason it should have magically healed since I couldn't get a dentist appointment until Monday. It seems to be my wisdom tooth. I guess that is why they tell you to pull them when they first come in because eventually they will have to be pulled anyhow, but I had no money for such things back when they came in and I still have all 4 of them. Joy! Two of them have never broke the surface, they are hiding there beneath the gum and just waiting for their chance to make my life really miserable because I suppose they would have to dig to get at those. Anyhow, just telling you all that to whine a bit and also in case I disappear for a few days -- you will know that it is simply that I feel too crappy or possibly am too drunk to update this blog. Right now I am experimenting with swishing tequila around back there, but it only helps for a few seconds so I will either have to drink a lot of tequila or take a bunch of Advil and try to sleep. Probably the latter.
Also, I have a new Grey Matters posted at Binnall of America about old (or vintage, if you prefer) UFO episodes from TV, mostly the I Dream of Jeannie one.

It's better to have them extracted than to keep them. When they start behaving like this, it becomes a regularly recurring condition. Who needs that?
Ask for the gas, and good luck with the procedure.
I had mine removed when I was 23. They had become all infected because they were buried and you couldn't ever get at them to keep them clean enough.
I was on insane doses of Advil and alcohol until finally I found a place that would allow me to begin a payment plan (since I was poor at the time).
I opted for local anesthetic because I was too terrified of *not* waking up if I went under the gas. Without getting into details, I'll just say this:
Go for the gas. Seriously.
I had a molar removed about a year ago, it was the first tooth I ever had pulled and it wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be. I had no pain when it was pulled and none after. Although, I have always heard wisdom teeth are worse and I am not even sure if my dentist has gas. At this point I don't care about the gas - I just want it out. I am sure I may regret that later, but I can't imagine it could be any worse than it is now.
Mine also came in when I was around 23, but they really didn't hurt much. I suppose if they had I would have found some way to get them pulled.
I hate tooth stuff so much and feel your pain long distance! One odd thing that may actually keep the infection down is to drink (and swish) a whole lot of real cranberry juice. It's worked to bring down the raging beast until you can get it taken care of.
It has to be the kind from the health food store -- full strength bitter stuff, but it does work. Sending love your way, nonetheless.
hmm... I hadn't thought about trying cranberry juice. I don't think I ever told you, but do you remember when my "scoop mark" got infected and you suggested that? I tried it and it worked! Totally cleared it up. I will try to pick up some cranberry juice tomorrow.
