I saw this and wondered why the Florida panther was a separate sub species, but I guess they go on to explain it's an off shoot of migrated western cat. My parents lived west of Ocala and saw and photographed big cats all the time. As a matter of fact my father kept a bucket of water out every night so they'd have something around to drink. Yet the local "officials" always denied their existence. I would assume they're still all over the east coast.
