What a crazy weather day here! Around 6 pm, the wind started to really whip up. There were sustained winds of over 50 mph and wind gusts nearing 70 mph for two hours. The airport was closed, flights cancelled, incoming flights diverted to other airports. My yard is a complete mess right now. Huge tree branches are down and at least a couple of my plaster yard ornaments were blown over and broken. There are lawn chairs in strange places and even the super heavy metal hammock stand was blown over. I felt a little like I was in the Wizard of Oz, I kept seeing things blow by the window - big things. All things considered it wasn't so bad, at least nothing came crashing through the window and Toto - I mean Pooka and I are fine.
