I'm a photographer and to me that looks like a lens flare. Most likely from the bright light on the bottom edge of the frame. It is when bright lights are off centre that they produce flares.
Don't get me wrong, i'm not a debunker, I believe! I just think in this instance it's a lens flare.
Unless the photographer saw it with his own eyes to! Then we have something very interesting.
Since nothing was seen when the photo was taken that is probably highly possible. I know there is a lot of camera info in the article, but since I am not a photographer I don't know if any of that would rule out lens flare.
