Not much of anything new came out of this, but there is one thing that did intrigue me. I remember it being stated a bit differently and since I have it recorded I will check sometime, but this is what the CNN transcript says that Buzz Aldrin said while talking about a strange light that seemed to be following them on the way to the moon:
Now, we know that if we were to say, Houston, we've a light out the window. It going along with us, heading for the moon. A lot of these guys are going to go ape, you know. And it's really going to endanger the mission and occupy a lot of our time trying to explain what's going on.
When he says "a lot of these guys" he is pointing at Stanton and the other ufologists and obviously talking about ufologists. Would someone, especially back then, really be worried about what the ufologists would think? Why would that even cross their mind if they think that there is a light following them? How would that endanger the mission?
I can tell you that the last thing that would be on my mind, if I thought a light were following me to the moon, would be whether or not ufologists would "go ape" over what I say. The only possible reason that would cross someone's mind is if they had been briefed to not say such things. Seems fishy to me.

Reminds me of the CNN reporter Jamie whathisname that said he thought he heard an explosion but that wasn't what he meant.
I agree with you Lesley.. I watched and recorded this show and something "fishy" seemed to be going on with Buzz Aldrin in this LKL show. And after watching him last night, I think he may have been reminded again to "keep a lid on it"
Cindy - Those were my thoughts as well. One just expects someone like Buzz Aldrin to be much braver, which is why it was so disappointing.
Eric -- He didn't hear an explosion, I think he was only farting. ;-)
