Never fails to amaze me that people find "big government" health care to be a conspiracy, but big for profit corporations are perfectly fine. They worry about Obama death panels, when most health care companies would gladly let grandma die if it improved their bottom line.

I'm not a clinician, but I've worked in US health care for almost 20 years.
There's billions of dollars in revenue and MD incomes at stake in health care reform. None of these bloated US health care entities is going to go gently into the night.
Much of the disruption at the town halls is coming from funded agitators. These health care behemoths want you afraid of a health care system that actually works for sick people. It will be far less profitable for most of them (why should a non-profit hospital administrator earn a seven-figure annual income; why are drugs that are sold at cost overseas beyond the ability of most Americans to pay for; why does your doctor rush you through a visit and not let you ask more than one question [so you have to come back and he can bill for another visit]; why does your insurance company often automatically refuse your first claim submission [cash flow, and if you're sick enough maybe you'll die and they won't need to pay out]).
America's health care system is a national disgrace, and shills like Beck want to keep it that way because he counts drug companies among his show's sponsors, and there are still a lot of people out there who don't accept that the last election was a mandate for change from the discredited right-wing economic and social policies in vogue for the last thirty-years.
