Some odd things happened to me in Oregon's forests. I was deer hunting near Marion lake in the Mt Jefferson wilderness in the late 70s. All of a sudden I was overtaken by complete exhaustion and had to lay down on the top of a hill. Just laid down on the ground and slept for a couple of hours. Never happened to me before or since.
