UFO Hunters, MIB, orbs and snow
I very much enjoyed UFO Hunters last night. It is a real shame to think they might not be returning. TV Guide had the second two episodes listed as reruns, but I hadn't seen the orb one (not sure about the other, since I missed it), but it may be that I missed an episode or two last season. It was great to see Tim Beckley and Allen Greenfield on the MIB episode! I also really enjoyed the orb episode because as you probably know -- I often see glowing orbs in the sky, especially in chem/contrails. I never have felt anything negative from them, but have had that feeling that there might be some psychic thing going on that makes me go outside and look up at that particular time. Of course, it is more likely that I just spend a lot of time looking at the sky.
It is still cold here. Snowed a bit more yesterday, though nothing much on the ground here in the canyon, but the mountains are covered as you can see in my photo. The small mountain on the right is Manzano Mt. Hope the aliens brought their winter coats!

You Should Carve a Quirky Pumpkin Face |
![]() You are offbeat, creative, and funky. You abhor anything too normal or ordinary. Your Halloween celebrations are unique and unpredictable. You like to change things up. One year you might have a horror movie marathon. The next year you might have a pumpkin carving contest. On Halloween you like to interpret the holiday and traditions loosely. Anything goes, and you're up for anything. |

Stuff
I have a new Grey Matters up at Binnall of America - just some Fall esoteric musings.
I also added a new page to my Machine Elf blog that is a collection of links to all the Mac Tonnies memorial posts that I have posted here. If you know of any I have missed, let me know.
Don't forget to watch The Real Wolfman on History Channel tonight. It sounds awesome! A side trip to my childhood memories -- Saturday afternoons when I was a kid, they always showed monster movies, Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolfman and others. I always found to Wolfman movies the most scary and so they were my favorite. :) Frankenstein movies were the least scary (to me) and I always just ended up feeling sorry for him. I think I even normally cried when he was killed at the end.

You Should Dress Up As a Cat |
![]() You are a shy, reserved person who takes a long time to warm up to others. You are close to those you've known the longest. You are crafty and smart. You may seem like you're lost in your own little world, but you're really paying attention to everything going on around you. You are not easily influenced by the other people in your life. If anything, you counterbalance their emotions well. You are intuitive and have a lot of wisdom to impart. Most people don't pay close enough attention to the lessons you teach them. |

The most wonderful week of the year!
It is starting to get cold here, just in time for Halloween. I remember as a kid being forced to wear a coat over my costumes -- I would get so pissed off and throw a fit about it every single year. Seriously I would have rather froze than wear a coat -- coats are for babies! Now that I am "grown up" (or just old) it still pisses me off that it gets cold enough for a coat, but I would rather wear one than be cold. :) It is really going to ruin my whole sexy pirate look if I have to spend much time outside, which I had planned on doing. Already my leggings are probably going to be switched for skinny legged black jeans. Damn cold!
So you can tell it is Halloween week and my mind is totally on Halloween, the spookiness, the candy and the drinkin'. Most of all the drinkin'. Oh yeah, and there looks to be some promising TV specials too, not to mention the UFO Hunters marathon on the 29th. No matter how cold it gets it is still the most wonderful week of the year!

You Are a Satanic Horror Movie |
![]() There's no one scarier than the devil, and even just thinking about him (or her???) makes you shiver. You are obsessed with the idea of evil, and unlike your typical horror movie, the devil isn't someone you can just kill at the end. Even if you aren't religious now, it's likely that you come from a religious background and still think of the world in those terms. Your favorite movies explore the idea of satanic influence... stuff like Rosemary's Baby, The Omen, and the Exorcist. |
Those are some of my favorite horror movies. :)

You Are Spooky |
![]() You put the trick in "trick or treat," and you won't stop scaring people until you scare yourself. You love horror movies, dark spooky nights, and the darker side of Halloween. You save the kids' stuff for the kids. Speaking of kids, you avoid the little candy grubbing monsters at all costs. Well, unless you are looking to give them a little scare. You think Halloween has gotten a bit to sugary these days, and you don't mind injecting a little fright into things. |

Damn time change!
Never mind, it was just my clock that changed it's own time and I must need sleep badly. :)
I just realized the time changed. Now I am going to sleep really late, it almost 7 am. I hate the "Fall Back" or whatever it is called. Like it doesn't get dark early enough in the winter?

You Are Decadent and Hedonistic |

You believe in indulging, and you wouldn't hold yourself back if you could. Your favorite Halloween celebrations revolve around masks and anonymity. You like how people shed their inhibitions when their identities are hidden. You'll just go wherever this crazy night takes you. And you're hoping it will take you someplace very wild! |

Remembering Mac Tonnies

I can't tell you how shocked I was when I got up late yesterday afternoon and found out that Mac had passed away. Probably many of you know how shocking it was because likely you were as shocked as I. At first I thought it must be some sort of sick joke, but once I read through posts by Paul Kimball, Nick Redfern and Greg Bishop, it sank in that it was actually true.
It always seems like a waste when someone so young dies, but most especially in Mac's case given his intelligence and the fact that he was an all around good guy. I can't think of one person that didn't like Mac, even those that may have disagreed with him on certain issues still liked him.
Even though Mac was only 34 years old I think he had a profound effect on many aspects of what is called Ufology. With the new book coming out we still have even more to hear from Mac and my guess is that he will not soon be forgotten.
I stole that top photo from Mac's flickr photos. Below is the last photo that Mac ever posted to his flickr account and I think it should put at least a slight smile on your face -

There will be no regular news posts here today, just links to posts containing memories of Mac. However, if you must have your news fix try Alien, UFO and The Paranormal Times.
BTW, I have been adding new links throughout the day, so if you come back later check for new ones.

You Are a Little Crazy for Halloween |
![]() You're not obsessed with the holiday or anything, but you can't help but find yourself getting in the spirit as it approaches. First you get some candy. Then you get a costume. Before you know it, your home is starting to look like Halloween central. You appreciate Halloween and love its traditions. You're happy to see it come, and you are a little happy to see it go. It's worth the smashed pumpkins and the sugar hangover, but you can't imagine doing it every week! |

Ghost Stories
I did write my ghost story last night. It needs some touching up, but it is basically there. It is for an exclusive short story contest put on as PR for Ghost Adventures, only open to bloggers that they choose. It has to be about the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in West Virginia and I am still tempted to add a bit o' mothman in. At first I wasn't going to do it because I certainly wouldn't expect to win, but it seemed kind of fun and I do like writing fiction, even though I am not very good at it. Not sure I followed the rules correctly either. It gave you certain ghosts that the story was suppose to be about. My story has one of those ghosts in it, but the story is mainly about a totally fictional character who has interaction with certain ghosts. Anyhow, I will be posting it at my Ghostly Happenings blog sometime before midnight on Sunday, in accordance with the contest rules.
Something Jerry E. Smith had told me really helped. We were having a discussion on facebook with someone else who was writing something and he said you should never write a book or story unless you knew what the ending would be. I thought about that and remembered that I had probably written dozens of stories years ago that I never finished because I couldn't come up with an ending. This time I came up with the ending first and it was much easier! Not that it makes the overall story or writing any better, but at least I finished it. :)

Stuff
A couple new things, a new Grey Matters at Binnall of America (re: the Heene's) and some thoughts (I don't like the term review) on Paul and Holly's new ghost show over at Ghostly Happenings.
I may be busy this week writing a short ghost story. There is a reason for that and I will fill you in on it if I manage to come up with one I somewhat like and finish it in time.
Guess that is all for now. Hope all is well with everyone.

Your Autumn Sense is Smell |

Of course you love favorite smells like pumpkin pie cooking or a fire burning, but your nose is much more sensitive than that. You also notice the smell of fall leaves, the scent of a favorite sweater, and the aroma of fresh apples. You remember and cherish every detail of the season. In fact, the littlest things about fall give you the greatest amount of pleasure. |

Exclusive: I Helped Richard Heene Plan a Balloon Hoax

Aside from the hoax this article is actually about UFOs and Richard Heene's belief in them and Reptilian beings. A shame that he has ruined any credibility with such a hoax.

It's all for the show!
We have all witnessed the disgusting lengths some people will go to just to be on TV, but the Heene's win any sort of sick competition hands down. Even assuming that there was no hoax involved in the whole boy in the balloon report they gave - first, to the FAA and then to the media and finally getting around to calling 911. Just assuming there is no hoax there, they still suck. Here are these people going from show to show yesterday morning with their kid sick and throwing up! Shouldn't sick kids be home in bed? On one show the kid was literally throwing up while sitting on the dad's lap and the dad didn't even seem to notice he just kept talking! So the Heene's either 1) care more about being on TV than their children, or 2) Balloon Boy is a great actor and they told him to act sick so he wouldn't have to answer any questions about what he said on Larry King.
