Computer problems

Just letting everyone know that I am having weird problems with the LCD screen on my MacBook.  It goes off often and I have to jiggle, open and close it until it comes back on.  It is getting harder and harder to make it work, so I need to take it in for repair (and also upgrades), which means I may be without a computer for a couple days.  I do have the iPad, but last time I looked there was no browser app (like "share this") that would make doing this blog possible without spending all day.  I will check apps again because I haven't looked in a while, but if I don't update later this week - you know why.

BTW, now that Tim has finished all his hard work on the Exeter Conference he has posted my Grey Matters about the George Noory "Meet and Greet" at BoA.

Stuff

I did update yesterday, just not until noonish.  I didn't get much sleep Sunday night so I was really tired and made the mistake of having a few glasses of wine.  I was literally falling asleep sitting up and ended up going to sleep around midnight, which is almost unheard of for me.

A quick reminder that Ancient Aliens will be starting season 3 on Thursday!  Giorgio Tsoukalos will also be the guest on c2c Sunday night w/ host George Knapp.

I do have a new Grey Matters posted at Binnall of America, so check that out and all the great columns, interviews and other stuff there!

Stuff

A bit o' news from the Phoenix conference - Nick Pope got married there!  How cool is that?  I have already sent him and his bride Elizabeth good wishes, but sending them again and hope you will too!

Just a reminder to be careful with your voodoo sex rituals, things can go terribly wrong.

Also, as there were a couple posts today about abduction research, Emma Woods, Budd Hopkins and so on, I should mention that I have a related Grey Matters posted at BoA.  Related, but totally different.  Don't miss the great posts by Deirdre and Kevin Randle though - they are linked in the news links.

Stuff

Nothing much up here.  I continue to work on a writing project that I can't yet mention and I have been planning my Halloween costume and making Halloween jewelry.

I do have a new Grey Matters posted at Binnall of America, but nothing else that I can think of.

I hope everyone is enjoying the autumn!

Grey Matters, Stress and Physics

I do have a new Grey Matters posted at Binnall of America, Billy Ray Cyrus, Feuds and the ETH.  Maybe it should have just been called, Roswell: The Continuing Saga.

I would so love to tell you about my past few stressful days, but it would be too damn boring and so I wouldn't do that to you.  However, I am hoping that it will all be over soon and then I will laugh at it, mostly out of sheer joy that it is over, rather than there being much of anything funny about it.

As if the problem and the stress it causes isn't bad enough, the past two days have been unbearably hot, even in the house with the AC (this is NM -- swamp cooler).  Heat I can normally handle, but there seems to be humidity mixed in, which I can't handle.  I loathe humidity!  Well, and I think I have mentioned in past summers, but swamp coolers do very little good when there is much humidity.

I had actually hoped to get out of town before the end of the month and into the nice cool mountains, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen.  I suppose that The Tesla Tech ExtraOrdinary Technology Conference at the end of the month might make me feel slightly better.  I did manage to snag a press pass in time this year, so I will be reporting on anything interesting that I see at the conference.  Well, at least they told me I could have a press pass -- I haven't got it yet and I certainly don't have $350 to spend on a ticket.  Anyhow, I do hope to see something remarkable!  Miracles do occur and current physics doesn't know everything -- I guarantee you!

Alien eyeballs and stuff

That is my new backpack that I happened upon when I was renting movies at Hasting the other night.  It totally reminded me of Adam Gorightly's friend "Rupert the Antichrist" because some of the aliens seem to be giant eyeballs.  Rupert's website seems to be gone now, probably because he wasn't elected President.

Aside from that I do have a new Grey Matters posted at Binnall of America, so check it out!

Writing babble

I reined myself in and forced myself to accomplish what I had hoped to accomplish over the weekend.  It is done!  I can go back to normal!  Well, and I have proved that even with summer nipping at my brain -- I can force myself to concentrate if I really need to.  Of course, certain things suffered.  For example, I skipped the monthly UFO meeting.  Well, I didn't wake up in time for the meeting, but I could have made the last hour or so of Applebees afterward, if I had tried, but instead I concentrated on my tasks.  Even with my concentrating it took until just a little while ago to finish.  Grey Matters was fairly easy, my main sticking pointing being what to ask Tessa Dick in my UFO Mag interview.  I had to really think about that and somewhat assume that many UFO Mag readers would not be familiar with Philip K. Dick.  Well, one would hope they would have seen Blade Runner and other movies based on his work, but to know about him -- no, I had to go with the very basics.  That said, I still managed to ask some questions that I really wanted to know the answers to and I think won't be lost on someone that has never heard of him or Tessa.  Perhaps in a future interview I can ask Tessa more in depth and obsessive fan questions. :-)

OK, now I can go back to my silly daily things, like facebook apps.  At least until next weekend when I will have to have to make sure I have a new Grey Matters for the week, but at least I have several weeks before needing to come up with a new UFO Mag column.

Gorightly and Stuff

The Future Theater interview with Adam Gorightly is available for download and there is also a bonus article (a tribute to RAW) of Adam's available for free download.  I highly recommend both the interview and the article.

I also meant to mention a couple days ago that Tim Beckley has published a new book, Secrets of Death Valley, with contributions from Adam Gorightly and Regan Lee.

Also, since I am not updating BTD over the summer -- Tim Binnall has an awesome interview with Paul Stonehill this week.  Check that out too!

Stuff

As you can tell by the lack of graphics today -- I have been busy!  I wish I could say I was busy working on my own stuff, but I wasn't.  For the past 2 days, I was helping Britton get various materials ready for a meeting this morning.  Lots of typing, scanning and printing since we were putting together booklet type things.  I am glad it is over with!  Not that I am complaining, it is nice to be helpful every once in a while -- just not something I would want to do every day. :-)

I have a new Grey Matters posted at Binnall of America.  I also have a new (rather short) post at WOE.

5 Years!

I have a new Grey Matters up at Binnall of America -- it is #227 and I am celebrating 5 years of writing GM!  Will there be 5 more?  You never know and I don't see why not.

Seems like I had something else to say, but it must not have been very important since I don't remember what it was.

Grey Matters and UfoMystic

I do have a new Grey Matters at Binnall of America. My thoughts on Twilight - none of them good.

Also, UfoMystic is back up!

iPad, iWind, iBoA, iNeedSomeSleep

I am already swooning over it! Too bad it won't be available for 90 days. I love my iPod touch and the iPad does so much more. Really stupid name though. I would have went with iTab.

It is snowing here in a wimpy way. What is really bad is the wind. Pretty sure the gusts are at least 45 mph, it is really howling. That sound the wind makes always reminds me of old gothic horror movies and novels. I like it, as long as I don't have to go out in it. The pets want nothing to do with it and are all curled up and sleeping, which is what I should be doing. Felt totally exhausted a couple hours ago when I was doing actual work, but feel totally awake now.

BTW, I do have a new Grey Matters at Binnall of America. Mostly thoughts for newbies to UFO blogging and such.

OK, I will try to sleep soon. g'night or morning to be more precise.

Clearing something up and some self promo

I couldn't decide if I should bother to comment on this, but it will just continue to bug me if I don't. I came across this comment from David Biedny at the paracast forum regarding my post on plagiarism and de Lafayette:

and that linked "Debris Field" column is laughable, demonstrating a bizarre level of naivete regarding copyright and author's rights on the part of that blogger.

Not sure if it sounded that way to others or just David, but there is a reason it is written that way. While David may feel perfectly OK just calling someone a thief, I do not. Yes, I know it is illegal and knew it then - I also figured that you knew it and therefore it did not need to be said and was rather posed as a question. Although I think it is highly unlikely, it is possible that de Lafayette had permission from the original authors to post their articles in his book, in which case it wouldn't be illegal. Having twice been sued in cases that were based on lies and had no merit, I know that anyone can try to sue you over anything. Both of those cases were so ridiculous that they never even made it to court, but that didn't keep us from having to pay thousands of dollars in legal fees to prove they were without merit. So yes, even though those cases had nothing to do with anything I said, I am very careful about what say. I am also sure that any legal professional would probably tell David that he should be as well.

Onto other things -

I received my copy of UFO Mag in the mail today! I haven't had any time to read anything in it yet and I was shocked at the large photo of me staring at goats with Jon Ronson, his photo is much smaller, of course. :) I don't think I publicly thanked Jon for that interview, but thanks Jon, you are awesome! I'll probably be bugging you for another interview when your next book comes out.

I have a new Grey Matters posted at Binnall of America. I didn't find Bigfoot during my trip to Taos or even any stories about him, but I did think about him and so this week is thoughts on Bigfoot.

Grey Matters and Movie Stuff

I have a new Grey Matters posted at Binnall of America. You know me, I had to comment on the Norway spiral.

We watched Taking Woodstock last night and it was really pretty good. I recommend it. It is fun, but at the same time it is pretty amazing how everything came about. Really, synchronicity everywhere! Not really any music from the concert though. Anyone hoping for that should rent or buy the Woodstock movie.

I also got season 3 of The Tudors in the mail yesterday, which I preordered months ago since I don't have Showtime. I am saving it until I am out of rentals. I almost hate to watch it because then it will be done with and some of you know how much I LOVE historical dramas or at least well done, steamy ones.

And as long as I am talking about movies, let me mention that Inglorious Basterds came out yesterday and if you haven't seen it yet - rent it or buy it! I can't remember every movie I have seen this year, but it is in my top ten for certain, probably my top 3.

Stuff

I do have a new Grey Matters posted over at Binnall of America. It is called Is Coincidence just another word for Paranormal?

I hate to beg, but to my facebook fairyland friends - please send me a Christmas Tree and Ice Flower. I have sent out dozens and nobody has sent one back. I am starting to think that my fairy friends don't really like me. It is right below your garden, you will see a little gift/present icon and just click it and send me gifts. I know, it is shameless begging, especially since I have used it as a status update twice. :)

The thundersnow we had yesterday morning here was quite spectacular! Thunder, lightening, rain snow and wind, all at the same time -- it was awesome! Although I know it was explainable it still seemed esoteric and I really enjoyed it!

Crypid Clothing

I just bought some Cryptozoology museum shirts, which I should be getting soon. I will be wearing them on holiday, probably along with some of the Threadless shirts I ordered. That is assuming they are big enough to wear a thermal under. I did try to order a size too big, but it is always hard to be certain when you can't try them on. Otherwise they will likely be hidden beneath one of my Bigfoot hoodies from Gama-Go or a Binnall of America hoodie. I think that maybe you can tell that you are truly obsessed when much of your clothing has to match your obsessions. :) On the bright side, you get to meet people you might not have otherwise met because they ask about your clothing, especially if it has Bigfoot on it. I am totally certain that Bigfoot is universally loved, even by those that don't believe in him because I see the look of glee in their eyes when they spot him on my clothing.

BoA Mania!

I am not feeling great and/or too lazy to update BTD tonight, but I did want everyone to know that the new season of BoA: Audio has begun! This week the guests are Jim Marrs and Jesse Ventura, so you won't want to miss it! Also, coming soon - BoA 2.0. I have seen the preview and it really looks awesome! Hats off to webmaster Jeremy Boston!

The Fourth Kind & Grey Matters

On Sunday my local UFO Group will be seeing The Fourth Kind. Frankly, the more I read about it the less I want to see it. First, contrary to what the marketers want you to believe, it is not based on a real case, at least I couldn't find any real case that it seemed to be based on. There were some disappearances in Nome, Alaska one winter, but not any evidence that they had anything to do with aliens or UFOs. Right now I am thinking this will turn out to be just another horror film, with no real depth to it. Still, I will likely see it and report back whether I end up being right or wrong. I do hope it doesn't turn out to be as boring as the review link I posted today makes it sound. :)

A new Grey Matters is posted at Binnall of America. Check it out and all the other great columns at BoA too!

Stuff

A couple new things, a new Grey Matters at Binnall of America (re: the Heene's) and some thoughts (I don't like the term review) on Paul and Holly's new ghost show over at Ghostly Happenings.

I may be busy this week writing a short ghost story. There is a reason for that and I will fill you in on it if I manage to come up with one I somewhat like and finish it in time.

Guess that is all for now. Hope all is well with everyone.

This and That

I just realized that I missed Rich Dolan on c2c last night with George Knapp. Luckily I haven't canceled streamlink so I downloaded it and shall listen tomorrow (or later today by this time) on the way to Los Alamos.

Hopefully, I will find free wifi somewhere in LA so I can check my messages and facebook. :)

I should have a new Grey Matters posted at Binnall of America later today -- about ghost cats.

Must try to get to sleep soon, which is easier said than done.
