Yes, I am missing "key critical factors!" Thanks for noticing!

Ever get one of those comments that really is no big deal, but yet totally gets under your skin?  Yep, I got one of those yesterday.  Someone going by a screen name of The Emperor commented this about a sighting reported at UFO Casebook, which I had linked to:

How many different video tape sources where there fore this happening?
On my blog, that is one of the key critical factors that I have to even put something up. You have to remember, your's might be niche, and it might still be a small audience, but its still an audience. You are essentially a reporter with no agency, but you still have a responsibility when it comes to what you put up.

I think I was being accused of not keepin’ it real by someone that blogs using a screen name!

You all know that I would like to send my crack team of investigators out to every sighting that is photographed, but sadly nobody has offered to fund that effort.   Therefore, I have to actually depend on readers having brains and deciding for themselves.  It had never occurred to me that you guys are just too dumb to do that, so I guess the Emperor must feel he knows something that I don’t.

Kidding aside, you guys know that there are a couple “news” sites that I don’t link to.  The reason is not that I feel you are too dumb to know that what they post at those sites are mostly hyped up lies to improve their hit rate and ad revenues, but because I don’t feel they deserve any extra hits from my site. Simple as that, as hilarious as their stupid “news” sometimes is, they don’t deserve my linkage. On the other hand, Bat Boy and Weekly World News often get linked here under the “just for fun” tag because they are fun and not pretending to be serious news.  Great article about Sharks being under alien mind control today!

Of course, I will continue to post links to videos, photos and sightings posted by people on the internet.  No doubt some of those will be hoaxes, some will be common things like balloons and some will likely be unexplainable.

The Emperor infers that there is some unwritten template for objective screening, or perhaps a more accurate word is "editing" what is fit to print. If that were so, our media would have ten seconds of daily news, and our government's "key critical factors" would all be in the eyes of it's beholders..Well, isn't this so already? I think we can all decide for ourselves as big kids. The more surrealistic the scenario, the more tongue in cheek the response should be, not to say that one man or woman's trash is another ones treasure. I think the Emperors point is rather pointless.Ohmigod, he has no clothes on. Cest La Vie
