I watched a couple cool esoteric-ish DVDs that came out last week. First, The Vampire's Assistant, which I had expected to suck (no pun intended), but actually it was pretty fun. I liked it about a billion times better than Twilight.
The other movie I watched was The Box. Alien/ufology fans do not want to miss it. I found lots of holes in the plot, but I don't want to give spoilers so I won't say what they were. However, over all it was entertaining and at least a little thought provoking. Would you push the button? I like to think that I wouldn't, but who knows depending on the circumstances?
I have had a crappy week, so I am glad it is now Sunday and the start of a new and different one. :)

You Should Not Have a Mullet |
![]() Unless you're being truly ironic, you should shy away from having a mullet. A mullet is so not you. You are modern, trendy, and sophisticated. You can't remember the last time you chugged a cheap beer. You don't have a redneck bone in your body, and you probably don't even know a Billy Ray Cyrus song. That being said, having a mullet would be the perfect Halloween costume for you. You would make a hilarious hillbilly. |

Warning Cheaters
OK, so I don't want to accuse anyone - maybe this person just has a lot of friends, but there is a certain person/site in the Zorgies that I know isn't very popular that is winning in a certain category. Not being popular is aside from the fact that for the first 24 hours or so, this person had no votes and now suddenly they are in the #1 spot. Very odd seeming, but I assume that Paul Kimball could check his stats if he wanted and find out if anyone was cheating. I am not saying they are (as I said, they might just have a lot of friends). I have tried to cheat several times, not to actually cheat, but just to test and see if I could, trying various things and I couldn't. Still, I have heard many rumors that you can - though I won't say how and I did not have access to that particular way to cheat - I will only say that Paul Kimball seems to have stat counter and so quite likely he can tell who has clicked on what. I say that not because I am certain anyone is cheating, as I said, maybe they just have a lot of friends, but also to discourage those that might think of cheating - because I know Paul has stat counter which tells what people visit and what they click on. I ask that people not cheat, not even if it is for me - I am happy to be nominated and with whatever I end up with and I would like it to be REAL. I do not need false "zorgy popularity" and neither does anyone else, except possibly for this person that is possibly cheating.

Zorgy Awards 2010
Yes, it is Zorgy time again and as always I appreciate any votes for this blog since I am up against The Daily Grail and The Anomalist. Not that I have anything against either of those sites (they are wonderful), but I would like to retain my 3rd place standing.
I always find it hard to vote in most categories because I normally have more than 1 friend or someone that I respect in each category. In those cases, I tend to vote for a person I like that I think will get the least votes of the people I like. Not suggesting you do that, it is just the only way I can decide.
Aside from news site, the only other category I have no problem with is podcast. I can't imagine voting for any other podcast except BoA: Audio. Loren Coleman agrees and writes: I enjoy Binnall of America for the podcast category. In the comment section Craig Woolheater announces that Tim will soon be joining UFO Mystic - I knew that, but it wasn't my place to say anything. Yep, it is me and the boyz over at UM and UM is also nominated for best paranormal blog, along with Cryptomundo, Regan's Orange Orb, Posthuman Blues, UFO Media Matters and Robert Barrows. Yeah, a very hard choice.
No trouble maker of the year this time around?

Planning for summer. More new toys.

As some of you know I have a mini stonehenge that I built in the yard many years ago. This summer I have decided that I will build an entire mini secret base. Those are my first two acquisitions for the base because you can't have a secret base without ufos. I am pretty sure where I am going to put it, beneath a tree so I can hang one of the ufos (probably the saucer) over the base, like it is taking off or landing.
The Area 51 saucer is the same model manufactured by Tester from Bob Lazar's description, it is just made by a different company now.
The models are suppose to be easy to build. I hope so, I am not really much of a model builder.

Ancient Cave Drawings and Quatchi
For those that haven't checked - I have some new posts over at UfoMystic. I saw that Michael Heiser wrote a blog post about the ancient alien cave drawing story that I posted at UM (and also here) being a fraud. I do want to point out that at UM - I made the comment that it didn't really strike me as being an ancient cave drawing, it looked way too new and the story did not tell how they determined it was ancient. So I am mostly in agreement with what he wrote about it being a likely fraud. Oh, but you know how I love stories with cute graphics!
Mostly I have been watching parts of the Olympics with my new friend Quatchi. You know I can't resist cryptid creatures and had to have one. They are much more adorable in person! Very soft and cuddly too. Although, my Quatchi will be staying in his box as a collectible. Really, he doesn't mind. It is very hard for him to come to terms with the Canadian hockey loss, the box gives him comfort.

Not Wrapping My Lil' Head Around This
I was a little shocked when I read this post -
The Interstellar Housewife: Wrapping My Lil' Head Around This
I read the comments at WOE, scratched my head and then returned and reread Deirdre's original post about 3 more times and I still couldn't grasp the grand outrage of it. I just can't wrap my lil' head around it either. You all know that I have often stuck up for the Disclosure and Exopolitics people when I felt they were being attacked for no real reason and just because someone found them an easy target. I just don't see that Deirdre is doing that. She says right in there that she doesn't believe that all aliens (if they are aliens) are good or bad. She even says that she is sure that not all exopol people believe everything their leaders say. As you well know, I don't believe in any organized groups -- they all suck! I don't even belong to MUFON. Of course, that is one of the many problems with organized groups, the people in charge ARE (in a sense) speaking for everyone. People like myself that do not want others speaking for them don't join organized groups. Whenever you have Presidents, directors and by-laws, someone is speaking for you whether you like it or not.
Back to Deirdre, if I stretch my imagination I can somewhat imagine how someone could be offended by what she wrote, especially if they felt Deirdre was speaking about their friends. I am protective of my friends too. I tried reversing the entire topic and still didn't find myself the least bit offended so it must be the friend thing. Possibly it is just that I am jaded, I see dozens of what I think are truly offensive attacks on Exopo, Greer, Salla, Bassett and Webre (and others that aren't even associated with Exopol) each day and Deirdre isn't even in that ballpark.
Of course, it is totally Anya's right to be offended and comment, just as it is Deirdre's right to post her point of view.

Holy Hogwarts!
So, there is this dude, Adrian Jacobs, that is suing JK Rowling for plagiarism. I just have to share some portions of the book he is saying she stole ideas from.
Hat Tip to the wonderful Neil Gaiman and you can read more here.
Willy sat in Ali Baba’s chair and was frequenctized into vision acute, now receiving clarity waves from the Ruby Tower.Local coconut juice in Kentucky? That is far out! No wonder she was stealing things from him. :)
—-
Kentucky set the scene for the polo feast. A green green carpet appeared like a field in the sky, and the audience was enthralled as the mini polo ponies careered back and forth with their Jockies at breakneck velocity around the entire carpet lawn. … Duke plied them with the local coconut juice which spiced and blended with Bay pineapple juice, caressed their lovely day.
—-
In Willy’s laboratory, Wizard Cricket demonstrated how a mixture’ of grounded nicket paste and paleberry juice applied gently on the eyebrows of an Aussie guinea pig would bring a marked change of appearance. Willy suffered the mixture and clumsily knocked the contents of the texture into the berry juice paste and ! The guinea pig became a winking wongo - a wonderful little chap, a cousin to the Dutch Tree Squirrels.

It was specially intimate between them and had provoked some envy as its sweet success for silent discourse. Sitting in the cove, Willy sniffed deeply and drew into his mind Breathair Oxy-Zone. He had been taught the trick by Master Wizard Onlywheness who had been blessed by Guardian Saint Lovely Lucinda. Onlywheness had shown Willy how to breathe and on outward breath to sound silent messages. It was a question of nose muscle control and delicate lacquering of the air with thought pellets. Willy concentrated hard. He was rusty for he hadn’t drawn on this secret power for decades but his patience was prized…

One more thing...
Can someone tell me what is up with UFO Casebook? I suppose they could have forgot to pay the bill and been suspended for that, but I really don't think they would let that happen. I have no clue why else their server would suspend their account.
Stuff
Not much going on here. I am a big Winter Olympics fan so I have pretty much just been zoning out in front of the TV. My faves - Shaun White (of course), Torah Bright, Hannah Teter and Johnny Weir. Snowboarding is obviously my favorite sport at the WO, but I do love me some Johnny Weir too!
We did go to movies last night and saw The Wolfman. I love Wolfman movies so much! I remember watching them as a kid and being totally terrified, which I loved! I thought this new one was very entertaining, which was all I was expecting from it since such movies no longer terrify me. Some really nice filming and effects too. Probably needless to say, but not a very complex plot. :)
Now that the halfpipe is over, so is the best part of the Olympics (IMO) and maybe I can get back to writing.
