The Nature of Existence and Other Stuff

We just watched The Nature of Existence and it was quite good.  It had Shermer and Dawkins, but lots of other opinions too.  Although, it is mostly stuff many of us have heard before, it still managed to be entertaining.  Besides, unless you live in Athens, Georgia - I don't no where else you would see Ultimate Christian Wrestling.  Nothing like wrestling for God!

Yesterday was a weird day and I am glad it is over.  It had internet weirdness - including an email in my ufo mag forum mail from Seth Shostak (though it was meant for Bill), my house filled with smoke from the pellet stove and my car not wanting to start.  Probably there was other weirdness that was small in comparison and overlooked. Anyhow, due to my car problems I will not be making it to my bi-weekly conference meeting.  Well, unless Brit gets the car to the shop and back by around 2.  Honestly, I will miss being there with everyone if I don't make it.  I enjoy those meetings and so I hope he does manage to do it even though I didn't bug him about it.  My horoscope for today said that I should avoid road rage, so maybe I shouldn't even be driving. :-)

First, something I have been meaning to to do - a shout out to Shout Factory and big thanks to them for sending me the Dark Skies DVD set!  So far, I haven't had time to watch them, but when I do I can't wait to see how many things about the series I forgot over all those years. :-)

My dear friend Priscilla Sister Wolf has a new website, check it out if you have time.  I am sure there will be more to come in the future.

Lastly, this forum has a whole Giorgio Tsoukalos meme going on and it is hilarious!  Don't worry about Giorgio being upset by it, he is how I found out about it.  It is one of the very cool things about Giorgio, he can take a joke and doesn't get all bent out of shape like many (or most) people in UFOlogy.  That is why he is mega awesome rather than just plain awesome!  And yes, that is my own Giorgio meme graphic at the top of this post.

I watched a couple cool esoteric-ish DVDs that came out last week. First, The Vampire's Assistant, which I had expected to suck (no pun intended), but actually it was pretty fun. I liked it about a billion times better than Twilight.

The other movie I watched was The Box. Alien/ufology fans do not want to miss it. I found lots of holes in the plot, but I don't want to give spoilers so I won't say what they were. However, over all it was entertaining and at least a little thought provoking. Would you push the button? I like to think that I wouldn't, but who knows depending on the circumstances?

I have had a crappy week, so I am glad it is now Sunday and the start of a new and different one. :)

UFO Monday and Grey Matters

I had a very interesting UFO day yesterday. I saw 3 different UFOs and I finally got something on video using the IR setup. I will likely be posting about it at NM LOWFI this morning or later today.

As I mentioned a couple days ago, this week's edition of Grey Matter is about the DVD Capturing the Light. It will be posted later today at Binnall of America. Make sure to check out all the great stuff at BoA!

Light and Sunshine!

After a couple days of rain and even some snow, it was a lovely day yesterday. The sun was shining and the sky was clear! I felt almost like a new person -- full of Spring joy!

Not much going on. Just finished writing the already mentioned Grey Matters, although, it will probably change a bit before I send it onto Tim. It is always best to sleep on it and check it again. It doesn't prevent typos (at least for me), but it lessens them and hopefully adds a bit of that new day perspective.

Noory's SciFi show and DVDs

I missed the new George Noory show on SciFi Sunday night, but I did tune in last night. Oh, I wish I could say something good. Maybe had I been able to stand more than 5 minutes of it there was something good, but I didn't make it that far. It was like a show for kindergartners interested in the paranormal. The specific show was about witchcraft and Noory had on a so called witch. He asked her questions like did she really use a big black cauldron and throw in frogs and eye of newt to cast spells(?). The few minutes I watched was horrible. Yes, I know it is not fair to evaluate a show based on a couple minutes from only one show. I will try some of the other shows and see if they are any better.

Onto DVDs --

Futurama's new Bender's Game was awesome! Totally hilarious! I think it is my favorite so far, but I would have to go back and watch the others again to be sure.

Hellboy 2 was also really good. It doesn't take itself too seriously like that Batman crap and I for one (maybe the only one) appreciate that.

The Daily Circus

I have a feeling there is going to be a real lack of blog posts this weekend since most everyone will be at a conference of some sort. There is the Monster Mash there in Mass, Culture of Contact in Jersey and a Bigfoot conference in Texas. Did anyone think to check the schedule of other conferences before deciding on a date?

I can understand that October would be a good month for such things. Most people associate cryptozoology, ghosts, ufos and other paranormal subjects with Halloween and are probably more likely to attend such event around that time. Imagine that!

I have a review of War, Inc., over at Lesley Land. It is now available on DVD for everyone to rent and watch! Personally, I think I may buy a few and send them to some carefully chosen people. :-)
