The Rite and Black Eyed People
I am not sure what the reason is, but for the past week or so I have been having strange dreams and I actually remembered them. Most of the time I am lucky to remember 1 dream per week, but I have been remembering every day lately. One that I had the night after watching "The Rite" was kind of frightening and had to do with black eyed people (rather than black eyed children). Some of these dreams, like the one I had after watching "The Rite" I feel are warnings to me. That dream was actually about someone I know and the following day I read the excerpt of Jon Ronson's upcoming book on Psychopaths and frankly the two fit together way too easily. Never easy to admit that someone you are related to might be a psychopath (even if certain people in your family have told you that for years), but there is one person in my family that I will continue to keep a distance from. Some of you that are closer to me will know who I am talking about, but it doesn't really matter. He is just a person that fits into all to criteria mentioned in that article, which may or possibly may not describe a true psychopath. Without a doubt it does describe someone that is troubled and could be dangerous.

Jon Ronson was on the Glenn Beck Show. LOL! He says the transcript is high inaccurate (what would you expect?), but you can find it here - Glenn Beck: ‘Them’ – Glenn Beck.
Apparently the UFOlogists, including Stanton and Dolan, will be ganging up on Colonel Alexander tonight at the AZ conference. I so wish I could be there for that!

Galactic Stuff
I have been meaning to mention this for a couple days and keep forgetting -- Philip Mantle has a new magazine coming out in July. It has great columnists like -- Nick Pope (UK), Mike Hallowell (UK), Steve Johnson (UK), Peter Robbins (USA), Scott Corrales (USA), Clas Svahn (Sweden), Lee Paqui (Australia) and Sheryl Gottschall (Australia). So far they are only taking orders for the UK and Europe, but if you are interested keep checking the site because the US and other countries should follow soon.
I just finished listening to Future Theater with guest Jim Channon. It was a great show, but I think I will have to listen to it more than once to totally wrap my mind around what Jim was saying. BTW, he does a great impression of Terence McKenna. :-) If you listen you will figure out why I used the word galactic in the post title. I may start using it all the time now.
Also, at Future Theater, in the Big Fish post you will find links to free PDFs of Bill's article on Channon and my interview with Jon Ronson from the current issue of UFO Magazine.

I finally saw The Men Who Stare at Goats last night. I enjoyed it, but they made it all too happy and comedic and I know that most people will only see the movie and think that is how it was. What can you do, eh?

What is my Agenda?
I knew even as I sent the Ronson interview to Nancy months ago that I would piss some people off with some of my questions, well, one in particular that referred to Glenn Beck and him stirring up unnecessary trouble by saying things like the President hates white people. So I have been disappointed over the past couple weeks when I didn't receive any email from Beck followers, but finally yesterday I did! For some unknown reason it was also sent to Vicki Ecker, who had nothing to do with my interview. The sender didn't actually claim to be a Beck follower, but she did accuse me of not being objective, using leading questions and having an agenda. It was great!
As those of you that frequent here and other places where I write probably know - I have never claimed to be objective. No, not ever. What I express are entirely my own opinions. Personally, I believe that people that think they are objective are just lying to themselves.
How could my questions (or comments) about extremists be leading when I was interviewing the man that wrote Adventures with Extremists? Was I taking advantage of poor Jon Ronson and forcing him to say things he didn't believe? I don't think so. Oh sure, I would like to think I am that persuasive, but I rather doubt it. Since it was Jon's books I was commenting about wouldn't it be that he was the one leading me?

Clearing something up and some self promo
I couldn't decide if I should bother to comment on this, but it will just continue to bug me if I don't. I came across this comment from David Biedny at the paracast forum regarding my post on plagiarism and de Lafayette:
Not sure if it sounded that way to others or just David, but there is a reason it is written that way. While David may feel perfectly OK just calling someone a thief, I do not. Yes, I know it is illegal and knew it then - I also figured that you knew it and therefore it did not need to be said and was rather posed as a question. Although I think it is highly unlikely, it is possible that de Lafayette had permission from the original authors to post their articles in his book, in which case it wouldn't be illegal. Having twice been sued in cases that were based on lies and had no merit, I know that anyone can try to sue you over anything. Both of those cases were so ridiculous that they never even made it to court, but that didn't keep us from having to pay thousands of dollars in legal fees to prove they were without merit. So yes, even though those cases had nothing to do with anything I said, I am very careful about what say. I am also sure that any legal professional would probably tell David that he should be as well.
Onto other things -
I received my copy of UFO Mag in the mail today! I haven't had any time to read anything in it yet and I was shocked at the large photo of me staring at goats with Jon Ronson, his photo is much smaller, of course. :) I don't think I publicly thanked Jon for that interview, but thanks Jon, you are awesome! I'll probably be bugging you for another interview when your next book comes out.
I have a new Grey Matters posted at Binnall of America. I didn't find Bigfoot during my trip to Taos or even any stories about him, but I did think about him and so this week is thoughts on Bigfoot.

Too much truthiness?
So far most MSM reviews of The Fourth Kind, along with a few ufology blogs, seem to be of the opinion that it sucks. However, Giorgio Tsoukalos and a few others seem to have liked it. Guess I will decide for myself on Sunday.
I also saw quite a few bad reviews (from the MSM) of The Men who Stare at Goats today. The main objection seems to be that it is too silly. I haven't seen it yet (hope to next week), but from what I understand from Jon Ronson, almost everything that happens in the movie is stuff that really occurred and is in the book, though it may not have occurred exactly under the same circumstances. So I guess the MSM just doesn't like the military/government being portrayed as silly, even if it is basically true. On the other hand, I imagine had they made the movie precisely like the book (more of a dark comedy), they would not like it because it might cause people to take it seriously and question what sort of programs are being funded by the black budget. In fact, I doubt that a movie that was totally based on the book would even be able to get the funding to be made because it wouldn't be "entertainment" in the eyes of the masses. Jon Ronson takeover
Jon Ronson has taken over The Guardian and as part of that long overdo transition you will find lots of goat staring going on, including daily writing from Jim Channon. Who knows what surprises there may be later in the week? Of course, everyone should go out and see The Men who Stare at Goats as soon as it is in theaters. You should also keep an eye out for an upcoming issue of UFO Magazine containing my interview with Jon Ronson and a few words from Jim Channon about aliens (or the others, as he calls them).
