Meh!
So I had planned to be at the Tesla Tech Extraordinary Technology conference yesterday, but I have no clue what is going on with my press pass. I sent a general email to someone there a few weeks ago, they told me that there was no problem for me to get a pass, but I had to email this other person with my info, which I did. I never heard anything from that person, so I emailed them again to make sure everything was cool and still nothing. I suppose I could show up there over the weekend and hopefully I would be on a list, but if I drove half way across town and couldn't get in without paying ($350), which I wouldn't do and can't afford - well, I would be really pissed. So I am not sure what I will do. The speaker I really wanted to hear, John Searl, was yesterday so I am not even sure why I should bother going. If you are putting on a conference like that, it should be somewhat organized. At the very least you should be able to email someone back and tell them we are sending a pass, your name will be on a list or fuck off -- whatever the case may be! I possibly may show up there sometime over the weekend just to harass them if I am not on a list. I have always heard that people that run conferences are disorganized and/or idiots, but I had hoped it wasn't true.

Fortean Detective #1
So I was sent a package by a well known forteanist. I am not going to say who just yet, possibly I should have permission from this person. My weird idea is that each day we will look at something else from this package and we will try to find an overall connection or maybe conspiracy. I can't say for certain if these things are random, even if the person meant them to be random. We will see if we can find some thread or synchronicity to hold them all together, other than the obvious of fortean. It is an experiment, please contribute.

Stuff
First off, before I forget, someone on fb just posted this link, which is a video of giant Tesla Coils in Russia. Don't know what their purpose is, but they look cool (probably the purpose is not so cool).
I haven't posted anything other than news updates lately 1) because there wasn't really anything to post about and 2) I was busy catching up on all my neglected house work. Believe me when I tell you that I picked the absolute worst week to do that because it was really horribly hot. Of course, now that I am done it is suppose to cool down. Anyhow, my house is as clean as I can make it being that it is also a work place and I even had guests over last night, which I very much enjoyed. It made me want to try harder to keep things clean so I can invite people over more often -- it is a hard thing to do what with the all clay from sculpting and all the dog hair from Pooka. Yes, and the fact that there are about a million things I would rather do than clean and Britton feels the same. :-)
Now that everything is done I hope to get back to normal and even write a Grey Matters for next week.

Grey Matters, Stress and Physics
I do have a new Grey Matters posted at Binnall of America, Billy Ray Cyrus, Feuds and the ETH. Maybe it should have just been called, Roswell: The Continuing Saga.
I would so love to tell you about my past few stressful days, but it would be too damn boring and so I wouldn't do that to you. However, I am hoping that it will all be over soon and then I will laugh at it, mostly out of sheer joy that it is over, rather than there being much of anything funny about it.
As if the problem and the stress it causes isn't bad enough, the past two days have been unbearably hot, even in the house with the AC (this is NM -- swamp cooler). Heat I can normally handle, but there seems to be humidity mixed in, which I can't handle. I loathe humidity! Well, and I think I have mentioned in past summers, but swamp coolers do very little good when there is much humidity.
I had actually hoped to get out of town before the end of the month and into the nice cool mountains, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. I suppose that The Tesla Tech ExtraOrdinary Technology Conference at the end of the month might make me feel slightly better. I did manage to snag a press pass in time this year, so I will be reporting on anything interesting that I see at the conference. Well, at least they told me I could have a press pass -- I haven't got it yet and I certainly don't have $350 to spend on a ticket. Anyhow, I do hope to see something remarkable! Miracles do occur and current physics doesn't know everything -- I guarantee you!

Blogs, money and more
OK, so I have a new post at UFO Mystic. Really cool video of the UFO over China if you haven't seen that video yet. Craig tells me that he is working on some new things to maybe keep the site going. That gave me some hope and so I am posting again and will be trying my best to get people to visit UM. As I told Craig I would be really sad to see UM or Cryptomundo be shut down, let alone both. I hope that whatever Craig is doing works.
I do totally understand why people don't click on random ads, it is one of the reasons I really like the new Amazon contextual ads. I like that I can add in something that I actually like instead of random crap showing up in my sidebar. Of course, I don't expect to become a millionaire off that. :-) I don't even know if I will make any money off of it, but at least it fits in. I am luckier than Craig since I am not putting out any money for my blogs. As Regan points out in one of her posts tonight, it would be cool to make a few bucks and we certainly wouldn't turn them down, but that isn't why we do what we do. Craig being a site owner and putting out money is in a different position, but most bloggers just like doing it (for whatever reason) and money is not what motivates them.
The few fortean/ufo blogs that you see that pop up (always someone you have never heard of) and are obviously hoping to make money with tons of ads in their sidebar normally disappear within a couple weeks. Those people seem very insincere to me and I am just as happy to see them go. Nobody should become a blogger with the thought of making any money, only because they enjoy writing and want to do it.
Back in the days before the internet and blogs I would sit around writing things in my notebooks. Things that nobody ever saw or read. I think maybe sometimes we forget how lucky we are to have a place to share our ideas and thoughts with more than our limited group of local friends. I know that even I forget that sometimes.

UFO Mystic and Cryptomundo
Thank goodness I have you guys to whine to! I felt totally crappy all day yesterday and I actually am surprised that I managed to get this blog updated. Not crappy like the flu or something, but apparently I slept in a bad position and my neck was totally killing me all day. Everything only helped slightly, Advil, blue lace agate beads (I swear they normally work) and ice. Finally just a short while ago it seems to have let up and be somewhat normal again. I am hoping that a good nights sleep will totally heal it.
I guess I can say something now since Craig mentioned it at Cryptomundo -- UFO Mystic will most likely be vanishing soon, maybe along with Cryptomundo. It is why I haven't posted there in a while. I kind of figured why bother if it is going to be shut down. OK, I was kinda depressed about it. Besides which, to be honest, I realize that most people that read UM are hoping for posts from Nick and/or Greg. I have always known that, but was happy to fill in with an extra news item now and then. Even though I have known about UM for a while now, I was totally shocked about CM. It seems to be one of the most popular esoteric related blogs on the web, certainly the most popular Cryptozoology blog and it just seems like there should be someway to make it work, not that I know what that would be. You can tell by all the money I make from this blog that I am totally clueless about such things. :-) And also, I really don't care about making money off my blogs so I have never looked into it, other than adding a few Amazon links for things that I do really like. Anyhow, I thank Craig for the time I got to blog at UM -- it did make me feel good that he invited me.
