This and That
I just preordered my copy of UFOs and the National Security State, vol 2! I can't wait until it arrives!
I have a new Grey Matters up at Binnall of America. It is a shorter column than I normally write, but it is about UFOs, Buzz Aldrin and the media.
Pooka's notorious nip to my check is healing. The teeth marks and almost gone, the swelling is also pretty much gone, but the bruise makes me look like someone punched me. The bruise is fading too, but I wish it would do so faster. I may try some make-up on it this afternoon and see if I can get it covered enough that I feel comfortable leaving the house without thinking people are staring and wondering who hit me. After 3 days at home - I really need to get out!

The study is the second volume in a projected trilogy, covering all facets of the phenomenon from the 1940s to the present day. Entitled UFOs and the National Security State: The Cover-Up Exposed, 1973-1991, the new volume analyzes a decisive turning point in the phenomenon during the last decades of the cold war.

Using archival sources from the U.S. and Canadian National Archives, professional journals, and direct investigations and interviews, Dolan provides a detailed analysis of the critical UFO encounters by military and civilians worldwide. These encounters, all thoroughly documented and equally baffling, repeatedly demonstrated that the UFO phenomenon has been a global phenomenon, and the result of highly advanced technology that has received no official recognition.
Many of these cases involved the violation of sensitive U.S. military airspace, as well as that of other nations. Some of these include:
• The unexplained intrusions over American and Canadian air bases in late 1975;
• The spectacular interception attempts of a UFO over Tehran in 1976 – an event tracked by an American defense satellite;
• The landing of an unknown object near two American-operated airbases in Britain in 1980;
• The appearance of large boomerang-shaped craft north of New York City during the 1980s;
• Military records describing attempts to intercept UFOs by the nations of Europe, South America, Africa, Australia, and Asia; the appearance of triangular craft throughout the U.S., Europe, and the Soviet Union, including the attempted interception of a triangular aerial object by Belgian F-16s in 1990;
• Numerous sightings of anomalous objects in Earth orbit by Soviet and American astronauts.
This study also presents an analysis of UFO secrecy itself, throwing light on areas that have long operated in darkness. Dolan analyzes the structure of power behind the scenes, describes the “black budget” and “Special Access Programs,” studies the relationship of military versus corporate control of the UFO secret, and provides a geopolitical analysis throughout to bring the topic of UFO secrecy into the mainstream of historical understanding.
His study also provides a first-ever extended analysis of the history of UFO research itself. Dolan has recreated the discussions and debates concerning such topics as aliens abductions, animal mutilations, intelligence community infiltration into UFO research, the controversial MJ-12 documents, the Gulf Breeze controversy, claims about the reverse engineering of alien technology, crop circles, and more. He has also studied the effect of such new technologies as the Internet on UFO research.
This is a thorough and complete history of the phenomenon, the secrecy, and the response by researchers who sought to understand the mystery. Behind it all is the backdrop of a world in technological, economic, and political transformation. UFOs and the National Security State: The Cover-Up Exposed, takes the reader through a fascinating turning point in the history of the UFO phenomenon, as well as the history of the modern world.
Apollo 14 astronaut, Dr. Edgar Mitchell, described Dolan’s book as “a masterful and important work,” while Nick Pope, formerly Head of the UFO Desk within Britain’s Ministry of Defence, called it “a gripping account” that gives “the definitive position on one of the last great mysteries of our time.”
The book is available to pre-order and will be ready to ship in the second week of August. The book’s Complete Introduction, Table of Contents, numerous reader reviews, as well as all ordering information, are available at Richard Dolan’s website: http://keyholepublishing.com

Couldn't make it up even if I tried
Apparently Steven Greer caused an uproar over the weekend at the Barcelona Exopolitics Summit, by telling a Spanish speaking man I could kill you. According to Greer, it was some sort of weird joke. He then told some other Spanish attendees that unless they worked with him with their free energy devices, they were unlikely to get anywhere, which they also took as a threat. Peeps -- I couldn't even make this kind of stuff up. Read about it at Project Camelot, scroll down past the news/upcoming event section to the blog post dated 7/26.
Let us all agree that if the aliens land and want to talk -- Greer will not be in charge of diplomacy. :-)

First time for everything and some of those things I could do without
Well, I am a dork -- in case you didn't know. I was playing with my dog, Pooka, down on the floor earlier and I had forgotten that she hadn't been feeling well the past couple days. Anyhow, apparently I irritated her and I ended up being nipped right on the check bone. I know it was a nip rather than a bite because I still have skin on my face. :-) Pretty deep teeth marks though and although I felt nothing when she nipped me, didn't even know I had been nipped until I saw all the blood, it is now pretty sore. I don't blame her, obviously I am not a very good dog trainer. She is very sorry, she just forgets how wimpy humans are. First time that has happened in the 8 years I have had her. Just one of those things I guess.
Even with that I have managed to hear a great deal of c2c. George Knapp and Robert Hastings make an excellent show!

My good deed for the month is now out of the way.
Now for a cool gif that Iggy hooked me up with earlier. It is the monolith of Phobos that Buzz Aldrin was talking about in that C-Span interview -

Update and why you should listen to old friends
Alfred Lehmberg has some email and updates to his David Biedny photoshop post at his news site. Personally, I don't get it. It is pretty much the same UFO Magazine logo that has been used on the cover for ages. I don't remember Biedny ever going all woozy over it before. Don't most magazines have photoshopped logos? It is just letters, not like fake eyeballs on someone. Seriously, did he really go that ape shit over letters? What if something serious happened? Would he just explode?
Onto important matters -- if you are having back and/or neck problems (and probably any joint problem), please consider swimming! Check out my post over at the totally girlie blog. That post isn't just for girls and I hope that it will help someone else like me. Really I can't even say how grateful I am for the relief I now have. My friend Rhonda was right, exercise really can make you feel good! Damn me for doubting her! She is my oldest friend, you would think I would have learned. :-) Some day I will tell you about when we played stiff as a board, light as a feather, but not today.
